Actress Maria Schneider Dies at 58

French actress Maria Schneider, best known for her role in the controversial 1972 film Last Tango in Paris, has died at the age of 58. Schneider passed away in Paris after a battle with cancer.

Schneider began her acting career in 1969 with several uncredited appearances. She shot to fame in 1972 when director Bernardo Bertolucci cast her alongside Marlon Brando in Last Tango In Paris. Schneider struggled to not let the film and its sex scenes define her career. Her other credits include The Passenger and Jane Eyre.

Schneider battled drug addiction, scandal and mental illness.

ABC’s Christiane Amanpour Interviews Mubarak

NEW YORK — ABC News journalist Christiane Amanpour landed an exclusive interview with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Thursday after she went to his palace to speak to someone else.

The veteran foreign correspondent made it to the interview only after talking her way past an angry mob that had surrounded her car.

Amanpour wrote in a reporter’s notebook on ABC’s website that she left for the Presidential Palace after being granted an interview with new Vice President Omar Suleiman. Read full article…

Frontier grad has zombie role in post-Bowl ‘Glee’

Dancer Tony Bellissimo, who grew up in Hamburg, will be prominent in the special episode of “Glee” that will air after Super Bowl XLV on Sunday.

Bellissimo plays a football player who becomes a zombie during an on-field dance routine. For the number, the cast will pay tribute to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in a mash-up with the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s “Heads Will Roll.”

Promotional photos from the hourlong commercial-free episode — expected to start around 10:30 p.m. — show Bellissimo wearing jersey number 42, dancing next to a zombie version of Artie, played by Kevin McHale, on the football field.

Cake Boss Star Sal Picinich Dies of Cancer

TLC reality star Sal Picinich has died. Picinich, who starred alongside Carlo’s Bakery owner Buddy Valastro on Cake Boss, died Sunday after a battle with cancer. He was 63.

Picinich worked for Carlo’s Bakery for 45 years. He appeared on the first two seasons of Cake Boss, which features the work and adventures of Carlo’s Bakery. Picinich stopped appearing on the show in late 2009 after his cancer diagnosis.

TLC released a statement saying it was “saddened” to learn of Picinich’s death. “We join Buddy Valastro and the entire Carlo’s crew in sending Sal’s family our sincerest condolences,” TLC said.

Picinich is survived by two children, two grandchildren and his wife of 38 years.
