Mariah: Nick Cannon Recovering From ‘Kidney Failure’

Mariah Carey has reached out to her fans asking for support as her husband Nick Cannon recovers from what Carey has described as a “mild kidney failure.”

“Please pray for Nick as he’s fighting to recover,” the singer tweeted Wednesday, along with a photo of herself taking care of Cannon in the hospital. On Tuesday, 31-year-old Cannon was sharing photos of the couple’s Aspen vacation with their twins, Monroe and Moroccan.

Carey explained the situation further on her website, saying that the two are “trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances, but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful.”

Why do we make year-end Top 10 lists?

Original Tommy’s opens in Ventura

They bill themselves as a “Southern California tradition,” but until 10:30 a.m. Thursday that tradition had bypassed Ventura.

“Hey, you guys! Welcome to Ventura,” a man shouted from his pickup to Robert Castaneda, who was preparing to open an Original Tommy’s Hamburgers at 5663 Valentine Road. “I grew up eating Tommy’s,” the man yelled before speeding off.

Castaneda, vice president of operations, said the reaction has been much the same since the restaurant announced its intention to open — phone calls and people stopping by to express support.
