Original Tommy’s opens in Ventura

They bill themselves as a “Southern California tradition,” but until 10:30 a.m. Thursday that tradition had bypassed Ventura.

“Hey, you guys! Welcome to Ventura,” a man shouted from his pickup to Robert Castaneda, who was preparing to open an Original Tommy’s Hamburgers at 5663 Valentine Road. “I grew up eating Tommy’s,” the man yelled before speeding off.

Castaneda, vice president of operations, said the reaction has been much the same since the restaurant announced its intention to open — phone calls and people stopping by to express support.

‘The Artist’ leads 2012 Golden Globe nominations

‘The Artist’ earned nominations for actor Jean Dujardin, supporting actress Berenice Bejo and the film itself.

But the Hollywood Foreign Press Association also flashed a serious side in acknowledging The Artist, a black-and-white film about the downfall of a silent movie star that led all nominees with six. The Help and George Clooney’s The Descendants followed with five each and picked up critical momentum heading into the Jan.

What’s missing, however, is more humor, more opportunity for Jack Black to let loose.

He is the voice of Po, whose dad is, of all things, owner of the most popular noodle shop in their village … and a goose.

Po wants to know who he is and where, literally, he came from in China. His quest for answers will lead him into the clutches of the villainous Lord Shen (Gary Oldman), an albino or white peacock with parental issues of his own. SALMA Hayek prayed to Jesus for bigger breasts when she was a child.

The 45-year-old actress – who now possesses a curvaceous figure – admitted she was “really scared” when she didn’t develop as quickly as her classmates and so appealed to Christ in a bid to boost her bust.

She explained: “I was the youngest in class and all these girls were starting to get breasts and I wasn’t getting anything – I was really scared. I was getting teased a lot because everyone was older and I was the skinny tomboy.’

“I went to a church that had a saint that was supposed to do a lot of miracles.

Playboy advances Lohan issue due to leaked photos

LOS ANGELES – Playboy magazine is advancing the newsstand date for its upcoming issue with nude pictures of actress Lindsay Lohan in part due to photos that were leaked online in advance, Hugh Hefner said on Friday.

The Playboy founder tweeted that the issue will now go on sale late next week, which roughly coincides with the December 15 airdate for Lohan’s planned interview on Ellen DeGeneres’ TV talk show.

“Because of the interest & the internet leak, we’re releasing the Lindsay Lohan issue early,” Hefner posted on Twitter.
