The Moroccan military has confirmed 78 people died and 3 others were seriously injured Tuesday morning when a plane belonging to the Royal Armed Forces crashed in Guelmim.
The Hercules C-130 was attempting to land in Guelmin following a flight from the Western Sahara territory when it crashed into a mountain. The military said bad weather was the cause of the crash. Witnesses reported thick fog.
The survivors have not been identified. The military reported 60 soldiers, 12 civilians and 9 crew members were on board the plane. Only 42 bodies have been recovered. No other details were released.
