Scarlett Johansson to direct her first movie
By Arienne Thompson, USA TODAY Updated
Scarlett Johansson is more than just a pretty face. The Avengers actress is preparing to make her directorial debut with an adaptation of author Truman Capote’s novella Summer Crossing.
Variety reports that Johansson has found producers to back the indie project, which will tell the coming-of-age story of a New York teen who breaks away from her stifling family in the aftermath of WWII.
Interestingly, Summer Crossing, which Capote wrote in the 1940s, was lost for more than 50 years before being rediscovered and published in 2005.
